The fourth Martin Kenney Award winner has spoken to Director of Communications, Nick Ryan, about her joy in winning the Martin Kenney Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Study of Financial Investigation.<\/p>\n

“I feel honoured by winning such a prestigious award from one of the world’s leading asset recovery lawyers,” Gul Meena Rehman, 40, told Nick.<\/p>\n

Working for a “tier 1 bank mitigating risks of money laundering and other financial crimes” comes with its challenges, she admits, but “the experience you gain is priceless \u2013 it’s second to none.”<\/p>\n

Gul Meena is the fourth annual winner of the Martin Kenney Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Study of Financial Investigation, which is presented to one outstanding student each year studying an MSc in Financial Investigation at the University of Central Lancashire<\/a> (UCLan).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gul Meena was awarded a distinction for her Masters dissertation, completing her project whilst working full-time and despite undergoing a premature birth following an unexpected pregnancy (after being told she couldn\u2019t have any more children), leaving her with significant health problems.<\/p>\n

The Martin Kenney Award is sponsored by Martin Kenney<\/a>, Head of Firm at British Virgin Islands law firm Martin Kenney & Co (MKS<\/a>), a specialist anti-fraud and asset recovery lawyer who is also a Visiting Professor at UCLan\u2019s School of Law & Policing.<\/p>\n
