{"id":4814,"date":"2022-08-25T16:57:40","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T16:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/?p=4814"},"modified":"2022-08-25T17:29:22","modified_gmt":"2022-08-25T17:29:22","slug":"mks-bolsters-investigations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2022\/08\/25\/mks-bolsters-investigations\/","title":{"rendered":"NEWS: Leading BVI law firm further bolsters investigative capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><b>New MKS investigator Harley Thomas has passed ACAMS anti-money laundering qualifications with flying colours<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Harley will soon be joined by a further recruit to the Investigations Unit, as MKS continues to expand<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Investigations Unit surges ahead<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Martin Kenney &amp; Co (MKS) in the BVI has further bolstered its investigative capacity this week, after newly-recruited financial investigator <a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2022\/07\/31\/mks-growth-continues-with-new-hires\/\">Harley Thomas<\/a> gained an important anti-money laundering qualification.<\/p>\n<p>Receiving his ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) accreditation after successfully sitting his Certified Anti-Money Laundering Exam, Harley said he was \u201cextremely proud\u201d and \u201clooked forward to bringing my new skills to the team in short course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harley Thomas (<a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/team\/harley-thomas\/\">see bio<\/a>) is a qualified Chartered Accountant and was recruited to join MKS as a Financial Investigator from one of the top accountancy firms, KPMG, in July this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/team\/harley-thomas\/harley-thomas-2-333-x-500\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4818\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4818 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Harley-Thomas-2-333-x-500.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Harley-Thomas-2-333-x-500.png 333w, https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Harley-Thomas-2-333-x-500-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Building a broad array of\u00a0investigative experience<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Investigations Unit Managing Director, <a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2022\/08\/07\/promotion-new-managing-director-of-investigations\/\">Tony McClements<\/a>, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to have recruited Harley and I think with his latest qualification he has helped us further cement the breadth and depth of services that our Investigations Unit will be able to offer clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur aim has been to build and develop a team with broad spectrum of experience and skills, allowing us to retain our reputation as one of the foremost global fraud investigation and asset recovery specialists in the region today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are exciting times for the firm as a whole, as we look to broaden our repertoire of expertise and as modern fraud continues to develop along dynamic lines. As our firm expands, we will continue to welcome new talent to deepen this capacity and build upon the successes of Tony McClements and his team.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Harley Thomas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Harley gained a distinction studying an MSc in Financial Investigation at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uclan.ac.uk\/schools\/justice\">University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) School of Justice<\/a>, where Managing Director of Investigations, Tony McClements, spotted his talent while lecturing at the School.<\/p>\n<p>Besides his accountancy qualifications, Harley will soon be sitting further exams to qualify as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world\u2019s largest anti-fraud organisation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition, he is well on his way to qualifying as an intelligence analyst, further complementing the already diverse array of skills and experience in MKS\u2019s Investigations Unit.<\/p>\n<p>As the firm continues to expand, Harley will also be joined in the next few weeks at our Investigations Unit by another team member, who has previously worked for the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in London and is also UCLAN School of Justice postgraduate.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p>Martin Kenney was recently appointed a <a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2022\/06\/06\/martin-kenney-uclan\/\">Visiting Professor at the UCLan School of Justice<\/a>.
