{"id":4581,"date":"2022-06-06T13:02:16","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T13:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/?p=4581"},"modified":"2022-06-06T13:02:45","modified_gmt":"2022-06-06T13:02:45","slug":"martin-kenney-uclan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2022\/06\/06\/martin-kenney-uclan\/","title":{"rendered":"NEWS: Martin Kenney appointed Visiting Professor at top UK School of Justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><b>Leading fraud lawyer Martin Kenney appointed Visiting Professor at UCLan<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Veteran Canadian attorney Martin Kenney will work directly with students from School of Justice<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the world&#8217;s top fraud and asset recovery lawyers has been appointed as a Visiting Professor by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uclan.ac.uk\/schools\/justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Justice<\/a> in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Veteran Canadian attorney Martin Kenney, whose law firm is based in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), is one of the world\u2019s leading asset recovery lawyers, regularly acting for clients on multi-million and billion dollar cases.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kenney is the recipient of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner\u2019s (ACFE) highest honour, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fraudconferencenews.com\/home\/2014\/6\/17\/video-keynote-speaker-martin-kenney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cressey Award for lifetime achievement<\/a> in the detection and deterrence of fraud. For the past five years he has been chosen as a global elite <a href=\"https:\/\/whoswholegal.com\/martin-s-kenney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cThought Leader\u201d by Who\u2019s Who Legal<\/a>, and previously has been selected as the number one offshore asset recovery lawyer worldwide. He regularly writes for and contributes to a variety of media outlets, as well as webinars and podcasts, and his firm has earned numerous plaudits from international media.<\/p>\n<p>Martin is also a founding member of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icc-ccs.org\/home\/fraudnet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICC FraudNet<\/a>, an elite network of asset recovery lawyers and related professionals, with members based worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>His firm Martin Kenney &amp; Co (MKS) already supports students from UCLan\u2019s MSc Financial Investigation course through internships and <a href=\"https:\/\/diskdrive33.com\/mks\/2021\/01\/28\/first-ever-martin-kenney-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sponsors an annual award in Kenney\u2019s name<\/a>, awarded to the student who makes an \u2018Outstanding Contribution to the Study of Financial Investigation\u2019, which comes with\u00a0a\u00a0\u00a31,000 bursary.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, MKS recently employed two UCLan School of Justice graduates at its BVI headquarters: Harley Thomas \u2013 a fully-qualified accountant as well as investigator \u2013 and Sarah Margarson, a financial investigator formerly with the Serious Fraud Office.
